Ban Putthaisong (บ้านพุทไธสง - Pronounced: Baan Pout-ai-song)
Large moated settlement site featuring an enclosed pear-shaped area extending northwest-southeast which in turn encloses an inner, circular area towards its eastern end. Substantial sections of both the inner and outer moat and embankments remain intact. The inner area is some 600m x 800m while the larger moated area measures some 1 km x 2 kms at its widest points.
On the village's northern edge, the moat is replaced by a larger, irregularly shaped reservoir, part of which may conceivably, originally have formed an associated baray.
The size of the site suggests it was a settlement of some importance although no specific vestiges or tuols have been reported and none of the photos from the active Buddhist monasteries in the vicinity reveal any artefacts. (Wat Maneechan, to the southeast of the village, may be worth verifying.)
CISARK has Wat Charoen Rat Baurung listed, though we are unsure as to what remains.
