Site Size & Condition: Wat Wat Ku Sa Khamin (วัดกู่สระขมิ้น - Pronounced: Wot Koo Sa Kamin)

Small, rustic monastery situated amid farmland close to the border with Khon Kaen Province. The wat is located on partially raised land with scattered tree cover and is bordered immediately to the north by what is today an irregular-shaped reservoir, Sa (or Sra) Kamin. (Despite the superficial similarities in pronunciation, the Thai name means turmeric rather than Khmer.)

The wat grounds are orientated to some 105 degrees and satellite images show limited radial patterning in surrounding field boundaries although any possible ancient feature on the site requires verification. For now, the site is listed as Wat/depository as photos of a shrine on the site reveal a collection of what appear to be Khmer-style boundary stones.

Five, large and mainly intact sandstone columns are shown, each of which features a carved rishi. The largest, measuring nearly 2m in height also features a curious round hole traversing its lower section. Some possibly Khmer-style pots are also housed in the shrine along with an intact sandstone figure. The limited photos we've come across are unclear but the statue also appears to be Angkorian in style and possibly represents Prajnaparamita although this also requires verification.
